Cross-Disciplinary Learning Initiative

HouseLearning x Beans101

"Combining bite-sized knowledge with practical nutrition and applied science."

The Collaboration

This initiative merges **HouseLearning's** mission for "Human-first learning"—offering fast, **free, and focused** bite-sized lessons in areas like math, science, and coding to over 1,000 students—with the practical, nutritional expertise of **Beans101**. HouseLearning's open-source, project-based approach provides a digital platform for this content.

**Beans101**, created by John Brzozowski, specializes in comprehensive, accessible education on Computer Science, Physics, and some after-school specialty, covering game physics, and development gameplay. By joining forces, we create cross-disciplinary learning paths that connect the science of how games are made with core academic subjects, ensuring education is relevant, practical, and protected.

The goal is to provide a complete learning experience, from understanding development to implementing **money-saving tips** and **life skills**, all through open-source tools and resources.

Core Learning Focus

  • **Applied Science:** Creating micro-lessons on the biology and **nutritional science** of plant-based foods, linking health benefits to chemistry principles.
  • **Life Skills Integration:** Developing interactive projects that blend **home economics** (e.g., cooking, storage) with computational thinking and practical data analysis.
  • **Open & Free Content:** Ensuring all collaborative lessons are delivered using an adaptive, open-source model, supporting our **$0 budget** philosophy for education.
